​FORT LEE, Va, (Nov. 16, 2017) -- Erin Fineberg

Hometown: Atascocita, Texas
Family: “My husband is Sgt. 1st Class Jason Fineberg. Our sons are Coleman and Kace, and we have a daughter Aria.”
Job title: Secretary, Kenner Army Health Clinic
Federal service: Six months at Fort Lee and over four years with Department of Defense.
Job duties: “I provide administrative support for the commander, sergeant major and deputy commanders at KAHC. I manage calendars, edit documents and facilitate meetings as well as fill in for the Patient Advocate and Executive Medicine/Public Affairs Officer when they are out.”
How did you get started with the federal government? “In 2011, I started as a seasonal clerk for the Department of Public Works Roads and Grounds in Fort Drum, New York.”
How did you start working at Kenner? “As a part of our move to Fort Lee, I enrolled in the Priority Placement Program as a military spouse and once the hiring freeze was lifted I began work in May.”
Thoughts on your working environment: “I love coming to work each day, something new is always happening.”
Challenges of your job: “Communication while a central function in my job can have its challenges.”
Motivation for job: “Helping Soldiers and family members.”
One thing you can't live without? “My family.”
Favorite place to vacation: “I inherited a love for the beach from my mom.”
Pet peeves: “Gossip and pre-judging.”
Favorite author: “Beth Moore. I love her stories.”
Favorite food: “Lasagna or Bluebell ice cream.”
Worst fear: “Failure.”
Talent: “Singing.”
Hobbies: “Softball, volleyball and running 5Ks with obstacles.”
Life lesson to share: “To choose joy. Being joyful makes everything else easier.”
Someone you admire: “I admire my husband for his dedication to God, country, family, church, and work.”

What do you expect from your leaders? “Leadership, integrity, investment and kindness.”
What is something people would be surprised to know about you? “I am a lifetime Astros fan! We finally won!”
Future aspirations: “Continue to work for the DOD, and taking on increased responsibilities and learning every day. Earn a master's degree.”
